O-Show26

Some other information about ODMA’s events strategy:

  • That in 2025 we made a conscious effort to collaborate with ACBO and OA’s Super Sunday to help alleviate the issue of there being so many events on at different times and venues and to hopefully benefit all events from an attendance maximisation point of view and ODMA continues to reach out collaboratively to numerous organisations where we see any potential opportunity to combine events

  • That sometimes events dates are dictated by venue availability given the scale of the events and amount of space required however we always take member feedback on best timings into account

  • That we have continued to run our smaller event in the year that the buying groups run their conferences to further reduce the strain on those wanting to exhibit at multiple events

  • That we placed a lot of time in considering the best move for our 2026 event and reasons are outlined in the O-SHOW26 media release supplied here

  • That we continue to remain open to collaborations with other optical events. For instance, we continue to liaise with OA head office for any future potential alignment with branch or national events that could work for both parties and despite in our opinion, the industry not being able to replicate an O=MEGA sized and style event in current market conditions, we remain open minded to future collaborations with OA and other industry events

  • That ODMA Board continually reviews its event strategies and best course of action in board meetings and strategic planning sessions to ensure the best fit of events given industry needs

  • That ODMA appreciates member and exhibitor support and in turn any event profits are what ODMA utilises to fund the ODMA trade association that is there to support its members and the extended manufacturers and distributor segment with optical industry support programs and advocacy.
