The Optical Distributors & Manufacturers Association (ODMA) is the peak body of Wholesalers, Manufacturers and Importers of optical products in Australia ie prescription spectacle lenses, optical frames, sunglasses, sight testing equipment etc.  Our members constitute the majority of the wholesale optical industry in Australia.  Our mission is to support the Australian optical industry by delivering key programs to grow and protect the market.

ODMA is not just ODMAFAIR.  ODMA also:

• Undertakes research for the benefit of the whole optical industry
• Provides eyecare program funding
• Is a Vision 2020 Partner
• Lobbies politically on behalf of the industry
• Represents the industry on standards committees

In 2005 ODMA released its research document Anaylsis of the Australian Eyewear Industry on which it had spent some $100K. Important segments of the findings were repeated in a roadshow conducted Australia-wide throughout 2005.  The report can now be purchased from the ODMA secretariat at a reduced cost of $250.

Essential Optical Concepts which was mailed to every optical outlet in Australia in April 2006. The content of the booklet is the culmination of research and input from many sources – it is not the opinion of ODMA, rather that of consumers and educators which is being passed on to assist optical retailers in their business.  Additional copies can be obtained from the ODMA secretariat.
