BIOPTIXX - frames and lenses made from sustainable resources

New at ODMA (and ODMA 2011 Awards of Excellence Finalist!)

In EYRES 21^st year of operation, the need for environmentally friendly frames and lenses was identified and the BIOPTIXX range was born! The BIOPTIXX range is EYRES' contribution to the ‘green revolution'.

Created from easily renewable, non-genetically modified castor plants and seeds, the frames and lenses were developed to reduce CO2 emissions from environmentally-harmful plastic production without compromising quality, impact rating or style.

Wearing a pair of EYRES BIOPTIXX, you can be safe in the knowledge that much of the frame material began life in the ground. This ‘ecological plastic' is every bit as tough and long-lasting as you would normally expect from EYRES.

EYRES is leading the prescription and occupational eyewear market with carbon-neutral ecological eye protectors that are partly derived from plant matter. The new manufacturing process will reduce CO2 emissions by 20% in comparison to conventional oil based plastic. This technology is not exclusive to the current launch of the X-SIGHTING Lifestyle Low Impact models, EYRES is phasing in the technology to be applicable to 60% of the complete EYRES eyewear collection.

EYRES BIOPTIXX is a nominee in the Green Environmental category at the ODMA Awards of Excellence 2011.
